Do you like optical illusions? I know I like the fact that our brain can mess with our reality.
So this is a pinwheel of a different kind. This illusion has you looking at the moving screen for about a half minute and then looking at something else. I always have looked at a wall before but look at your hand- creepy!  I wonder how it  would look if you looked at a face after watching this.

At first I wondered if I could call these pinwheels as they were not the usual four cornered shape but here is the definition

 I like it when they are spinning on the wall. I think this is stop motion right? Can you imagine how long this took to do?

Over at Bubble and Sweet Linda is feeling patriotic with their pinwheels
They have used fondant decorated like an American flag


OK how do you feel about fondant, people? It makes cool and detailed decorating of cakes and cookies possible but the taste is yuck isn't it? or did I just have a bad fondant maker?

For those of us not versed in any fondant skills she says use edible food writers which I think would be great for kids to make a foody pinwheel with. Hmm wonder if you could do that at a birthday party?

I have to love her bucket with paper stars and striped straws/sticks. I do admire someone who can bring the whole look together.

Sue at Munchkin Munchies blogs about baking and she makes the neatest sugar cookies. Makes me want to get out the cookie cutters and have a go but we know that can't go well.

She has a tute on making her pinwheel cookies here. These would go well with a picnic theme and you could have the hamburger and fry cookies too.
Is it legal to have a whole picnic of just cookies or will I get reported to the bad parenting board for inadequate nutrition?
